At first glance, Addis Ababa seems to be devoid of parks and green spaces, but tucked away behind Coke and Pepsi signs and stone walls and imposing gates are myriad little public places where you can be outside surrounded by trees and flowers with plenty of benches and usually a place to get coffee.
Using the links on the right, you can search by name or by park feature. You can also learn about “blue spaces” (pools) and “idea spaces” (museums and cultural centers). Each park listing has information about prices, location, special features, and a photo. If you want to just read more about the green spaces, scroll down.
Most parks are open during daylight hours. Unless otherwise noted, expect to be able to access the park between 6 am and 6 pm every day.
